Belgium has structural problems, or so it seems. According to a study reported in the newspaper article below, those who are unemployed and over 50 in Flanders have difficulties getting a job. Only Wallonia, Brussels (i.e. other parts of Belgium) and Slovenia have worse figures in Europe. Belgium does have a problem with long-term unemployment, so perhaps this is not surprising. As more and more people live longer and longer, it will become even more urgent to make sure that the older people have access to the job market.
