I am ambivalent towards gif animations in general, since they are a little disruptive and jagged, but at times they are an interesting medium to convey movement. This gif animation, composed of 50 images taken on 11 April 2015 in Putney and created using Google+ auto-awesome motion function, shows the start of the race between the men’s boats of Oxford and Cambridge Universities.
