Queensmere in Wimbledon and Putney Commons is home to a pair of swans, and wandering about the pond on 21 May 2019, I spotted two fluffy cygnets. Swans are beautiful creatures. There is something elegant and majestic about them when they are sitting, standing, or floating still, yet there is something ungainly and faintly ridiculous about them when they move, fly, or dive. The pen and cob were looking after their cygnets, keeping a watchful eye out for any potential threats, and taking turns to dive and feed themselves.
