The Olympic torch has toured the rest of the UK, and now it is being carried around London. As I found out that the torch was going to the tennis courts in Wimbledon, I waited outside the venue to see the flame. The weather has changed for the better: it was very warm and very sunny. There was a sizable crowd along the roads, and some people came prepared and were enjoying picnicking. I have not been that ardent or enthusiastic about the Games, but I have to admit that the excitement is infectious.
It was fitting that the torch bearer, who came out from the tennis courts, was Venus Williams, one of the greatest tennis champions.
