Broadly speaking, there are two schools of thought on how to organize blogs. The first school advocates specialization, which means creating a blog for each specific topic or niche. The second school argues for concentrating on one big blog rather many shallow ones.
I adhered to the first school of thought that stressed the need for a clear theme for a blog. I think that would have worked, had I been more dedicated to blogging and more narrowly focussed even within the specialized blogs. However, I realized that I am actually a pretty lazy person, and found it difficult to maintain a number of different blogs to a high standard. There were also quite a bit of overlap between different blogs, and such made linking inside and between them a headache.
So, after a spasmodic evening of activity, I integrated one website and three blogs. It has made it much easier to update, though I still have some doubts whether this was for the best.
