It has been cold in London, and I understand people may have experienced difficulties coming to work, or they had children to look after, because the schools were shut. However, when I went to the local high street, I was pleasantly surprised to see all shops and services open, except one: my bank. Well, I don’t own it, so it’s not ‘mine’, but I have an account with this particular bank. Wait a minute, come to think about it, I do own it, since it is owned by the tax-payers. But I digress. It was the only place that decided to close at 3:15 PM, due to weather conditions. Even other banks were open. It doesn’t really inspire confidence.
