Photographs Brühl Jagdschloß Falkenlust

Falkenlust is a hunting lodge built for Archbishop-Elector Clemens August of Cologne. It is in a walking distance from Schloß Augustusburg: if the weather is nice, it is a nice stroll through the woods and cabbage fields.
Falke being falcon in German, this lodge was built as the base for falconry expeditions, the favourite pastime of the Archbishop-Elector. The interior is impressive, especially the use of tiles, and it’s definitely worth a visit alongside the Augustusburg Palace. At the time of visiting, the entrance fee was €3.50. The opening times were the same as the Palace (see Brühl — Schloß Augustusburg).
