Brugge (or Bruges to use the more familiar French name) is a city that feels like frozen in time, in a way similar to Venice. Like Venice, Brugge has many bridges and canals, as well as a mediaeval economic power, and that is reflected in the architecture that still remain. The City Hall is in the centre of the historic town, with an impressive façade, and it also houses a neo-Gothic hall inside created after the fire gutted the interior in 1887.
